Ibis Kingsgate Melbourne Review

Ibis Kingsgate Melbourne Review – And since I’ve always had a good experience staying at an Ibis hotel, I was looking for one when I was planning my holiday in Melbourne.

The ibis hotels I stayed at in Seoul and Malacca were basic but clean and well-equipped. I was delighted to find that the one in Melbourne lived up to its budget but was worth the money reputation.

Ibis Kingsgate Melbourne Review

There were several Ibis stores in Melbourne CBD, but I chose Kingsgate for one simple reason – it was close to Southern Cross train station, as I used the Skybus service to get to Tullamarine and Avalon Airport. Skybus depot was right next to the railway station.

That being said, the hotel’s location is ideal for those who need quick and easy access to Southern Cross Station – the hotel is just a few meters from Melbourne Train Hub.

There are food outlets everywhere, even if not in the city’s food restaurants. There is also a Woolies and Coles around the corner from the hotel.

It’s also a short walk to the tram stop and is in a free tram zone*, so getting around town will be a breeze.

* In the free tram zone, you can ride any tram for free. Check to make sure the green sign is in the zone at the tram stop.

Ibis Styles Kingsgate, Melbourne (hotel Review)

At first I was a bit worried about my room as it was on the ground floor. I thought it would be too close to reception and it would be noisy. Also, the grey, threadbare carpets in the corridors and the dirty basement interior did not inspire confidence.

I adored my room. It has modern, chic decor and a small sink/table, smart TV with Netflix and YouTube (lovely!), fridge, safe, kettle and even an ironing board!

My room was warm – even though it was cold! I don’t even have to turn on the heater. It’s probably because my room only had one window and faced the closed area where they were renovating (yeah, I didn’t have much of a view), but it was fine by me since I was out of the room most of the time. time. I was lucky enough to pay only RM280 per night for a room via the Agoda app. The price I paid was really worth the money!
