Independent service and repair company mycar Tire & Auto, formerly known as Kmart Tire & Auto, is upgrading a number of its stores across Australia to service electric vehicles (EVs).

Mycar currently has eight sites across Australia that have been deemed EV-ready, but plans to upgrade a further 22 by August this year, bringing the total number of EV-ready sites to 30.

In addition to providing regular logbook services, these 30 sites offer ‘mycar EV’ service packages. Specific details related to these service packages for electric vehicles are still unclear. We don’t know pricing, time limits, or what’s covered and what’s not.
Kangan trains and upskills EV service technicians and supports EV owners in upgrading up to 30 EV-ready mycar service centers.
In addition, all 276 mycar service centers are already able to assist EV owners with general needs in areas such as tyres, wipers and globes.
The company says it is making a “major investment” in its electric vehicle network across Australia through “improved in-store equipment” and the addition of more electric vehicle chargers at service stations.
