Melbourne Cup 2016 Hats

Melbourne Cup 2016 Hats – Today was probably my second best day of the Melbourne Cup. I’m not drunk (no hangover). I was wearing flats (meaning my feet didn’t hurt). I didn’t even bet on the sweep (bank balance is the same). I didn’t have to pay for expensive tickets to events or tracks (I’ll be donating money to Pegasus this year instead). I arrived a minute or so after the race had started (not really a problem given how long it is). I forgot the name of the winning horse until I heard the 5pm news on my way to Realm at the track.

Pictured above are Hyatt’s Sophia Haridemos, Cynthia Jones-Bryson and Melba Haridemos. Mrs Jones-Bryson is an award-winning beekeeper who will be judging the Beekeeper Award at Oaks Day in Flemington on Thursday. The hats she and Melba Haridemos wear have been made by herself.

I spent 2 hours starting at 3pm looking at the Hyatt, Thoroughbred Park, Realm features, checking out all the fashions (the hats were the stars) and comparing the deals at each location so I knew where to go next. Take a day off on the first Tuesday in November and meet interesting people in Canberra. My job was to people watch on the best day of the year for people watching.

Elizabeth Krijnen and Hamish Lardi Trackside. Lardi noted that even though he placed second in the men’s fashion competition on the field, he returned some of his accessories to the car when we arrived with our cameras.

As a side note, I thought of the function of the Hyatt garden as a place for food, atmosphere and sunlight. The kingdom was seething but very full. There was a lot to see on the runway, but on closer inspection, there was nowhere more appealing than a top-notch hotel.

It definitely beats my worst drinking day. Invited another friend who works alone in the ghost town of the office (where there is no TV), discovered that there was no option to watch the race online at the time, tripped. The entire time we watched the game, the squad and regulars walked into the ball club next door and, without taking their eyes off them, walked out and sat back down to work on their own.

The History Of The Melbourne Cup In 1 Minute

November 2012 was a surprisingly successful viewing. I was at week 38 in runners, leggings and a faded heritage shirt that might have been purple before. On my way home from Harvey Norman buying air conditioners around 2.50pm I remembered Cup Day and ran to the nearest TV venue, Gryphons in the Griffith store, where I meet a friendly friend. (despite my harsh outfit) invited me to the race. I think I also drank champagne and orange juice.

One of the best racing interludes was at Darling Park in the late 1990s. I worked and had lunch at the Sydney Morning Herald in the IBM building overlooking Darling Harbour. Five minutes before the game, we were all invited into the lobby of the resort building to watch the Melbourne Cup on the big screen. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of sparkling glasses already poured like fairy tales on tables throughout the room, there were groups of friends and co-workers to cheer, there was even a pre-arranged clean-up and there was no guilt. You’re out of the office for too long because you only need to ride the elevator once.

An old friend is a Flemington member and took me to the track with her about 10 years ago. I remember being surprised that there was a train that took us from the city to the racecourse. I will never forget the complete stillness and silence just before the race started, and the roar of the crowd as the horses came straight into the house. The members area was, as expected, far more glamorous than Thoroughbred Park had to offer. Public areas, like here, are full of drunken people falling into the canal at the end of the day.

A nice change from last Saturday when some races were canceled and there was a big Cox Plate with cold temperatures and very wet tracks.

The weather was perfect for the Melbourne Cup Carnival to officially begin. Last year there were few guests due to the rain and cold. This year’s attendance grew as media and guests flocked to view Flemington-Park’s new fashion district. This is where this year’s Fashions on the Field takes place. Previously, it was held next to an autodrome. The Fashion Percent moved to the park to spread the word around Flemington Racecourse.

Parks are free spaces for the public to enjoy and enjoy fashion, music, food and entertainment. The park is home to James Vogue’s Premium Bar, Yellowglen Terrace, Cocktail Caravan Park, gourmet food from a range of Melbourne restaurants and the L’Oreal Paris Powder Room. A free vintage Ferris wheel and carousel add fun and color to the scene. The park is across the road from the racecourse, but anyway, fashionistas and partygoers hang out and know that nobody cares about horses, so this is definitely the place to hang out! There is always a screen to watch the game and if betting is your thing, there are plenty of places to place your bets.
