To do this, you can print a stock count report that shows all your items in stock and manually enter the quantity into it. How to print an inventory count sheet To print an inventory count sheet Go to the Inventory Command Center and click on “Count Inventory”. The stock count window will appear. Click Print. An inventory count report is printed and lists all of your items. Enter all available quantities on this sheet. How to Enter Starting Inventory Items and Values How to Enter Starting Inventory Items and Values Go to the Inventory Command Center and click “Calculate Inventory”. The inventory count window will appear with a list of your inventory items. In the Counted column, enter the counted quantity for each item. The Difference column changes to show the difference between the On Hand and Counted columns. Once you have entered all the quantities of your items, click on “Set up inventory”. The Adjustment Details window will appear, prompting you to specify a default adjustment account. For your opening balance, this should be your inventory asset account. This should be the only time you use this account for inventory adjustments. Click Continue. The window that appears depends on whether you have entered an opening balance for your inventory account (see Entering Opening Account Balances). ▪ If you have entered an initial inventory balance, the Adjust Inventory window will appear. ▪ If you did not enter a beginning inventory balance, the Beginning Balance window is displayed. Click Adjust Balances. The Configure Inventory window will appear. The Configure Inventory window will appear, showing a line for each item whose starting quantity you entered in the Inventory window. The items show the number, name, quantity and account to which the opening balance will be posted. This account is either your Asset Inventory account or, if you have not entered an opening balance for your Asset Inventory account, your Historical Balance Account. Enter any changes to the standard entries in the Warehouse Journal Number, Date, and Note fields. Enter the price per unit of each item (that is, how much each item costs you, not how much you sell it for). You cannot change the account number in the Account column. The selection you made in step 4 determines the default account used to record your opening balances. Click Record. The value of each item in the list is updated.
