Yes, Pitfire is a literal chain with seven locations throughout Southern California, but this is North Hollywood’s original wood-fired pizza place, and it’s where everyone in the neighborhood seems to gather every night. The massive space at Magnolia and Lankershim has also been revamped and now features a spacious outdoor beer garden with its own bar and a stand-alone Superbay open during the day. Walking into Cahuenga General Store is like walking into another world, or at least, walking into WestWorld. This former shoe store turned sandwich shop looks like an authentic 19th century general store with creaking wooden floors, chairs hanging from the ceiling and homemade soap on the shelves. There’s also a fantastic side patio where open mic nights happen every week. But the real reason you’re here is for the sandwiches. With over 30 different varieties, the menu is a bit large, but our strategy is to stick with anything that has pesto in it. They make it at home, and it’s incredible.
Valley Plaza Is Nearly Abandoned, But It’s A Favorite Hollywood Location
The journey to find a healthy lunch spot that doesn’t make you sad inside is a long one — even in this city. If you work or live in North Hollywood, HealthyCA is as good as it gets. The little salad shop in Lankershim is nothing more than a counter and a few tables on the pavement, so don’t come here for your weekly lunch with friends.
