Update On Rail Disruption Over The Next Few Days

There are also day trains between London and Cornwall, and two or three of these offer a very special experience: Pullman Dining. The Man in Seat 61 said: “If there is a better dining experience on a regular scheduled British train, I haven’t found it…”

The Pullman restaurant is available from Monday to Friday, eastbound on the 05:05 Golden Hind from Penzance to London, the 10:00 Cornishman from Penzance to London and the 16:00 Penzance to London. My favorite hotel booking site is www.booking.com and I usually prefer to book my hotels in one place here. You can usually book with free cancellation – this allows you to confirm your accommodation risk-free before the train booking opens. It also means you can put accommodation on hold while you’re finalizing your itinerary, and change your plans as they develop – a feature I use all the time when putting together trips. I do not book a non-refundable hotel. I’ve also come to trust their review score – you won’t be disappointed with anything over 8.0.

Tip: It is possible to pay to compare prices on several hotel sites: HotelsCombined.com is a price comparison site that compares hotel prices on Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia, Accor, Agoda and many others . Even if it’s not far, I prefer to keep all my bookings in one place at www.booking.com. Enjoy the amazing view from the train window as the line sweeps along the coast over the golden sands of Hayle Towans and Carbis Bay before arriving at St Ives. Then head to the beach, explore the harbor or wander the shops and art galleries.
