The Art Cave is located just outside Wilpattu National Park and contains some of the oldest cave art believed to be from the first people to settle in Sri Lanka.
Tented Safari Campsite At Wilpattu National Park
This is a great photo spot if you want to pick up a local attraction that is relatively unknown to most travelers.
Be careful not to visit during the rainy season, when water levels are known to rise at an alarming rate.
The Samadhi Buddha statue is believed to have been carved in the 3rd or 4th century. At least 1700 years! Over the past two centuries, it has been restored to its former glory and is truly a sight to behold.
This is a sacred Buddhist site believed to be around 1800 years old. It is also famous for having a gigantic Buddha statue.

I recommend staying between 1 and 3 nights at Wheelpath. One night should be enough if you are only interested in safari.
But if you want to experience any of the other locations, be sure to set aside a day or two.
